Here at MomCo, we gather and support moms. We believe in the simple but revolutionary idea that remarkable things happen when moms come together. That’s why we rally women to come together in their own neighbourhoods and help each other through this thing called motherhood, one gathering at a time.
“MomCo is a non-profit organisation that encourages and equips moms of young children to realise their potential as mothers, women and leaders, in relationship with Jesus and in partnership with the local church”.
MomCo, then, simply known as MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers), was founded in 1973 when seven women in Colorado invited moms to meet regularly and share their lives and parenting journeys. The vision was to grow together as women, parents, and leaders, with the ultimate goal of reaching women with the hope of Jesus.
Today, the small gathering they called MOPS now extends to 101+ countries, 25 languages, 72,000+ meetings a year and influences over a million moms annually. MomCo South Africa is honoured to be part of this vision and excited to grow the number of Moms that we can reach in Mzanzi.
We boldly elevate motherhood.
We embrace the unexpected & imperfect.
We understand our direction is more important than our speed.
We celebrate often & loudly.
We know every mom has a place with us.
We follow Jesus and invite others to journey with us.
MomCo celebrate the miracle that we call Motherhood! We take the age-old saying “It takes a village to raise a child” into the new millennium, and we create that village together. A MomCo meetup is a gathering of moms coming together for community, conversation and fiendship where we laugh, we learn and cry if we have to. We ahre the good and the bad of being a mamma and we always make sure o have coffee nearby.
Through this sisterhood of motherhood, lifelong friendships are formed between like-minded moms who value parenting and sharing Jesus with our kids and others. We are simply moms who want more!
Whatever type of mom you are, or season you’re in, whether you prefer to meet online or in-person, we’ve got a group for you.
